Who can stay at La Passerelle?
All women over the age of 18. with or without children and who are in a situation of domestic violence can stay at La Passerelle.
Can my friends and family visit during my stay at La Passerelle?
To ensure your security and that of the other women staying at the shelter, visits are not permitted. However, you can visit them at another location providing it respects the confidentiality of the shelter's location.
I am 14 years old. Can I meet a counsellor without telling my parents?
Your parents' consent is not required to benefit from our confidential services if you are 14 years of age and over.
Are the calls confidential?
Yes, all calls are confidential.
Are services available if I stay in my home?
Yes, external and youth services are available. However, for security reasons, the meetings will not be held in your home.
Will I be able to continue working if I am staying at the shelter?
You have the right to go out and maintain your daily activities when you are residing at the shelter. A protection plan will be discussed to ensure your safety when you are out.
How much does it cost?
All services offered by La Passerelle are free of charge.
May I bring my pets with me to the shelter?
For hygiene, health and security reasons, unfortunately your pets cannot stay with you at the shelter .
How long can I stay at La Passerelle?
Depending on your needs, the maximum duration of your stay can be three months.
